About CAVA
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) is the most comprehensive assessor qualification available, providing holders with the knowledge and skills needed to assess learners in both their workplace and in a learning environment, like a classroom. Holders will be qualified to carry out assessments for learners completing both NVQs and apprenticeships, as well as the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate.
Those completing the CAVA will learn:
- How to monitor and scrutinise the vocational skills of a learner
- The various methods of assessment and the basics of quality assurance
- How to assess learners based on a variety of evidence materials, including portfolios, direct observation and witness testimony.
What’s included
The CAVA is split into three units:
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding (FD47 70)
- Assess occupational competence in the work environment (FD48 70)
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (FD49 70)
