FuturU launches SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 7

A care professional chats to a woman

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our new Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 7!

This new qualification builds on the success of FuturU’s SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6, launched last year. While the Level 6 qualification helps care professionals establish their professional credentials, the Level 7 is for learners working in a senior role supervising others.

The launch of our SVQ Level 7 represents more than just a new qualification. It embodies our commitment to supporting care professionals to realise their full potential and provide exceptional care. We’re dedicated to providing qualifications and resources, in Scotland and across the UK, that enable care professionals to meet new challenges with the skills and knowledge they need to care confidently.

In this article, we outline what the Level 7 qualification covers, and three reasons to partner with FuturU.

What does the Level 7 qualification cover?

Our new SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SSCQF Level 7 is structured to develop skills and knowledge through a combination of four mandatory and four optional units.

The four mandatory units are:

  • Promote effective communication (mandatory)
  • Promote health, safety and security in the work setting (mandatory)
  • Develop your practice through reflection and learning (mandatory)
  • Promote the safeguarding of individuals (mandatory).

Optional units are chosen according to a learner’s job role – a skill scan is completed during induction to determine the best option for the learner.

The learning for FuturU’s qualification is provided via e-learning and four webinars covering the mandatory units – each one is followed by an assessment. All learners are assigned a dedicated assessor, who will proactively support and guide them through their qualification journey, tailoring learning to meet their individual needs.
