Naomi Bowyer works as Admin Assistant at Wales England Care, a small but growing training provider delivering health and social care qualifications across England.
In our latest testimonial, Naomi shares her experience of working closely with FuturU, navigating EPA processes, and supporting hundreds of learners through their assessments.
Can you start by telling us a bit more about Wales England Care?
We’re a small training provider working exclusively in England, but based in Wales. It’s a dual company – a domiciliary care agency and training provider, so we see both sides of the coin.
We have around 400 learners doing various Level 2, 3, 4 and 5 qualifications, as well as CYP 4 and 5.
As the Admin Assistant, it’s my job to process our new starters, deal with queries, monitor results and claim and send out certificates.
How did your relationship with FuturU begin?
We were already working with FuturU when I joined Wales England Care back in January 2023. As the main point of contact, I have a direct relationship with the team, mainly Nia and Linda.
What does your day-to-day interaction with FuturU look like?
If I have anything to do EPA-wise or get stuck, Nia is my first point of contact – I just find her so helpful. She’s really straightforward – if I have any issues whatsoever, she’s always happy to answer them and gets back to me quickly. She doesn’t mind how much I nag her!
Having one point of contact rather than a generic help desk makes a huge difference. It feels like a very personal service.
How has FuturU supported your growth?
FuturU takes care of all our health and social care Level 2, 3, 4 and 5 assessments. The majority of our learners go through FuturU. In July, around 30–35 learners went through assessment, which is massive for a small training provider like us. August has been huge as well, and we’re hoping September has roughly the same figures.
FuturU has handled the increase without issue, and continues to give me excellent service. All their assistance and help over July, and all year, was absolutely invaluable. I can’t thank them enough.
What makes FuturU stand out as an EPAO?
The ease of processing onto the portal is a major thing. Comparatively to one of the other EPAOs we used to use for the CYP route, the paperwork with FuturU is just so much more straightforward. With the other EPAO, it was reams of stuff and always seemed to get knocked back for something missed or misinterpreted. I rarely have that problem with FuturU.
All the paperwork in EPA Pro is nice and straightforward. Learners aren’t filling out pages and pages of self-assessments. That makes a difference.
What has the feedback been like from your learners?
The feedback I’ve had from learners has been great. 99% of our learners attend their assessments with no issues.
They’re nervous, of course, but they come back saying they were put at ease and it all went smoothly.
When you see a learner get a result and they’re like, “Oh my god, I never thought I’d get that,” it’s amazing.
Would you recommend FuturU to other training providers?
Without a shadow of a doubt. I’ve got absolutely no complaints.
Naomi’s experience highlights the value of having a responsive, knowledgeable EPAO that understands the pressures of supporting learners at scale.
