What is the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate?
The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is an exciting new qualification developed by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) in collaboration with Skills for Care. This certificate is designed specifically for those working in adult social care settings. Who is the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate for?
The new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is for individuals working in direct adult social care roles aged 19 and over. Eligible direct care roles include care workers and senior care workers as well as community support and outreach roles.
Are there any entry requirements for learners wanting to enrol in the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate?
You’ll need to be employed by an eligible employer in a direct adult social care role and be aged 19+. You may already have a relevant qualification, but this isn’t a requirement.
How is the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate funded?
The Department of Health and Social Care is providing funding under the Learning Development Support Scheme to support learning and development for ‘non-regulated care staff’, including deputy and Care Quality Commission (CQC)-registered managers and agency staff, in England for financial year 2024 to 2025.
