Care Certificate: July update

We’re another month closer to the launch of FuturU’s Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate, subject to Ofqual approval.

Here’s everything you need to know about funding and our progress so far, as well as an exciting update on a complementary qualification we’ve just received approval to offer.

An update on funding

Last month, we let you know that, in light of the General Election being called, any decision or wider activity relating to the funding which had previously been announced by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) had been suspended, pending fresh consideration by the new government.

We, along with other awarding organisations, met with the DHSC on 11 July who advised that the funding will now go through a ministerial review – this is standard practice following the election of a new government.

We expect to hear back following the review in the next six to eight weeks, and will keep you updated as things progress.

Comprehensive onboarding module built

As part of our commitment to providing learners with the support they need to be successful throughout their learning journey, our team of learning experts has created an in-depth onboarding module.

Our comprehensive onboarding module guides learners through the qualification’s objectives and explains what they can expect as they progress. It also introduces the different ways learners will be assessed, and signposts the support that’s available, every step of the way.

More qualifications coming soon

We’re excited to have received approval from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to offer the Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) qualification in both Scotland and England. The CAVA is a nationally recognised level-3 qualification, and the most comprehensive of its kind.

This approval is timely, as it means that we can further support organisations enrolling their team in FuturU’s Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate by training their own staff to become assessors, in turn expediting learner progress and streamlining the assessment process.

Watch an introductory webinar

We hosted two more introductory webinars, one for organisations and one for learners, all about the qualification FuturU is building.
