Welcome to the heart and soul of FuturU! We are a passionate group of individuals dedicated to creating a positive impact in the world. Our journey is guided by a shared vision: universal access to free healthcare education. The remarkable people on our team bring this vision to life. While we’re all aligned on the vision, everyone joined for their own reasons. In this story series, we will shine a light on some of the main driving forces behind the FuturU team. Before we get into our individual stories, let’s take a look at the three main reasons why people joined, and the world they hope to create with FuturU.

I believe education should be free:

At FuturU, our core strength lies with our people who believe that education – especially healthcare education – should be free. They see a world where nurses and care workers have to take on enormous amounts of debt to fund an education and think we can do better. They look at an education system and think it’s stuck in the 19th century. They believe in empowering healthcare workers by giving them the economic flexibility of career and educational mobility. These spirited champions embody the very essence of our mission and won’t stop until we see it through. They are the catalysts that keep us motivated, fueling our desire to make a meaningful impact in the world, one step at a time.

I want to use tomorrow’s disruptive tech to solve big problems:

Enthusiastic, ambitious, and looking for problems to solve, this group joined FuturU in search of an environment that allows them to leverage cutting-edge technologies to experiment and  innovate. The way it’s been done before isn’t good enough – they want to show the world how new technologies with clear use cases can change the world. They’re always learning from other brilliant team members how they can better their craft. Best of all, they’re excited to use their technical skills to make an impact on something that matters on a societal level.

I’ve got a personal connection to care and I want to help:

We are facing a global crisis in healthcare, with staffing levels negatively impacting patient care and outcomes, while burning out the healthcare workers giving their all. This group of FuturU employees knows first hand that we need a drastically different approach – they’ve lived it and hear it from their friends, family, and community all the time. A huge number of people have come to FuturU because they or the people they love are in care. These FuturU team members see the difficulty and importance of healthcare work. They want to bring their skills to bear on a problem that helps the community. They love being close to our users and enjoy nothing more than seeing the fruits of their innovation solve problems in the real world.

As we begin to share the stories of our incredible people, we hope you have a better understanding of why we’re here. A belief in free education, wanting to build disruptive tech, and the personal connection to care drew most of us to FuturU. We’ve brought the best of our perspectives together and formed a powerful bond, united in our pursuit of a shared mission.
